Once one invoice an invoice is raised, that number is assigned to that invoice and the system updates the next available number for any subsequent invoices. If two staff members are invoicing at the same time, the first to complete the process secures that invoice number, and the system then allocates the next sequential number to the following invoice, even if both saw the same initial number.
This ensures that each invoice number is unique and correctly sequenced, despite multiple users both seeing the same next available number.
